New York, New York

Much to our detriment, marriage is no longer what it used to be.

June 25, 2011 will go down in history as the day New York legalized homosexual marriage.  In signing the historic legislation Governor Cuomo said that the nation looks to New York for guidance in the equal rights arena.

That’s a shame, Governor.  You see, this nation’s founders looked to God.

And God has spoken on this issue.  He has spoken so loud and clear that it shouldn’t even be an issue.

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an

help meet for him.

And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the

air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam

called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the

field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one

of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought

her unto the man.

And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called

Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and

they shall be one flesh.                                                                                 Genesis 2:18-24

But it doesn’t matter what God says, does it, Governor.  God defined marriage from the beginning of recorded history.  But you, using your powers as Governor of New York, and the legislature, using its Constitutional authority to make laws for the State of New York can even redefine as good what God Himself said is evil.

You’ve made exemptions for clergy so they won’t be forced to conduct homosexual marriages.  Oh, that is so good of you. But we both know such an exemption will last only as long as the homosexual militants will let it last.  When they can’t find clergy to conduct their “weddings”, removing that exemption in the name of “civil rights” will be quick and easy.

This militant bunch already has quite a track record.

In the 1980’s, before a test was developed to detect it, homosexual militants threatened to contaminate the public blood supply with AIDS-tainted blood, unless their demands were met.

These same militants were able to pressure ABC Television to air an episode of Northern Exposure within 7 days of an election in Austin, Texas, which would determine whether same sex domestic partners would continue to be included in the city’s health care plan.  This episode featured a homosexual “wedding” which was sanctioned by the church.  Those opposing the “union” on Judeo-Christian grounds were termed bigots and indifferent.  Despite this, same sex domestic partners were dropped from the health plans of the City of Austin, Texas.

These same militants showed up in Austin, Texas for a weekend of demonstrations which featured such notables as Madalyn Murray O' Hair and the First Family of Atheism.  These militants would hold a mock trial of their enemies which was a who’s who of conservative America.  They proceeded to publicly curse a minister who invited them into his home and cared for them in a day that people believed that they would catch AIDS if they used the same bathroom as an infected person.

Incidentally, that minister, Mark Weaver, was present at the gathering, and quietly responded, “Jesus loves you”, to each of the curses hurled his way.

I was there.  I saw it.

So much for gratitude.

Now, I realize that every homosexual is not a militant and most of them would like to live their lives in peace. That’s fine and dandy.  However, their demands for legalized marriage between same sex “couples” forces the rest of us to have to redefine marriage.  God defined marriage as between one man and one woman.

In other words, Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

By God’s definition, same sex “couples” are excluded from marriage.  Same sex couples are not “one man and one woman”.  This is not discrimination.

I can’t bear a child because I am male.  Does that mean I need to sue God for discrimination?

The last time I checked, if one is excluded from something by definition, that is not discrimination.  And I am not a bigot because I believe what God says.

New York, it’s high time you took a look around.  Your morals are falling just as fast as the Twin Towers did on 9/11.

And the toll will be much, much higher.
